3rd - 3rd Grades


Come learn math with games and hands on activities. Each student will be making their own math interactive notebook with foldables and memory aids to help them absorb math basics. We will use manipulatives to help understand challenging concepts like fractions, area, etc. In this class we will cover CCSS for 3rd grade. Topics include: addition and subtraction with regrouping, multiplication and its strategies, division, properties of multiplication, arithmetic patterns, real world problems and examples, place value, multiples, fractions, time, measures of time, length and weight, graphs, area and perimeter. Homework will reflect the practice students do at home. Students can use any math curriculum of choice. In class assignments and tests will be graded.

Instructor Biography

Jane Ternavsky has been homeschooling her children for the past five years. Prior to that she worked in the Engineering Design and Construction industry, as well as tutored students in mathematics and physics from Kindergarten to University level. She holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.
