This year-long class is an overview of American Sign Language (ASL). Students will focus on mastering the basics of fingerspelling, numbers, colors, facial grammar and sentence structure. Through fun games, skits, and role play, students will have ample in-class opportunties to demonstrate their growing signing skills. The hope is that students will develop an enjoyment for ASL and a better understanding of the Deaf culture/community. In turn, allowing them to communicate using a new language and develop empathy toward those who may be different than themselves.
Homework: Students will be strongly enouraged to complete a minimum of 30 minutes practice each week that will be kept in a practice log. Students will recieve stars for completing homework and will recieve prizes for every 4 stars recieved.
**10% cash discount will be given to Private Pay Families, if paid in full on the first day of class. Also payment plans can be worked out if needed.

Ronni Ernenputsch has been married since 2009 and has three beautiful children. She also has a lovely step-daughter who lives just outside of Seattle, Washington. Ronni earned her Bachelors in Sociology, with a minor in English Literature from Vanguard University in 2004. Then she went on to receive her Master’s in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University in 2009. Ronni has a California Single-subject Teaching Credential in English. She has taught in the classroom for 9 years and loves the opportunity to help students discover learning in fun and dynamic ways. In Ronni's spare time she enjoys exploring the outdoors with her family through nature walks, boating on Lake Clementine, or visiting historical sites.
