Dive into history with this unique 2-hour block course that combines history, writing, and creativity. This semester we will focus on major events of World History. Each week students will learn about a specific topic, approaching it from a Historian’s perspective. Students will learn what makes a source credible and the difference between fact and opinion. Students will have creative opportunties to do Comic strips, Twitter posts, movie plots, etc. for varying topics throughout the year.
*Students will pick events from a prewritten list of event options that meet 6th-8th grade History standards.
Homework requirements: Students will have an average of 1 hour of work a week.
*Grades will not be given for class but if desired I can work something out with parent(s).
**10% cash discount will be given to Private Pay Families, if paid in full on the first day of class. Also payment plans can be worked out if needed.

Ronni Ernenputsch has been married since 2009 and has three beautiful children. She also has a lovely step-daughter who lives just outside of Seattle, Washington. Ronni earned her Bachelors in Sociology, with a minor in English Literature from Vanguard University in 2004. Then she went on to receive her Master’s in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University in 2009. Ronni has a California Single-subject Teaching Credential in English. She has taught in the classroom for 9 years and loves the opportunity to help students discover learning in fun and dynamic ways. In Ronni's spare time she enjoys exploring the outdoors with her family through nature walks, boating on Lake Clementine, or visiting historical sites.
