Experiencing the World is a social studies/history/geography course using thematic units...in an interactive hands-on approach. This includes simulations and games with independent and cooperative/group learning. Some of the units this year will include: pioneers, inventors/inventions, Civil War, community workers, circus, Presidents, world cultures, expeditions, etc.
Each class also emphasizes the importance of character development with monthly character traits such as: cooperation, self-control, honesty, resourcefulness, and determination.
It is for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders.
I have developed 3 full-year classes. Each year's curriculum has different subjects and different character traits. Students can take Experiencing the World for 3 years and get a different learning experience each year.

My name is Beverly Zorichak. I realized I loved teaching when I was homeschooling my four children. In the past 30 years, I have had the privilege to teach over 200 children. One of my goals is to instill a love of learning, a love for reading, and to encourage inquisitive minds and problem solving in each child. I have an innovative way of bringing out their best, making learning fun, and stimulatiang their desire to be lifelong learners. I have also created a 3 year standards-based curriculum, with thematic units rich in creativity, life skills and character development for students in grades K-3.
