Junior High Bible is a year long course for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. (Fall and Spring semesters, 15 weeks each semester).
For the 2017-2018 school year our focus is JESUS. We will study the life, death, resurrection and acsension of our Lord and Savior. Throughout the year we will read the four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in chronological order. We will also look at passages in the Old Testament that point us to the coming Messiah and how Christ fulfilled the messianic prophecies found in the Old Testament.
As we study the life of Christ our focus will be both academic (Understanding who Jesus really is as revealed in scripture) and devotional (applying the truth of Jesus; His life, teachings and the finished work of the cross to our lives.) As we grow in our knowledge of Jesus Christ and all that He accomplished we will understand who we are in Christ and the fullness of life he invites us to live through his grace and the Holy Spirit.
Students will be encouraged to read their Bibles daily, keep a journal, and participate in classroom discussions. Classroom discussions will involve addressing issues that today's middle school students are dealing with as the navigate life and the world they live in.
