It is time to empower the next JR Tolkien and Jane Austin! The Young Authors & Poets Club is a writing class for students who are familiar with preliminary creative writing or composition, and desire to dive deeper in exploring their capacity as upcoming writers. We will cover the deeper techniques and skillsets of creative writing, analyze famous works by young writers and poets, and learn from guest writers of all kinds what it takes to be an author. While our focus is on creative technique and content, this class will dabble in grammar and composition as is necessary for publishing written work. Students must be at or above a 7th grade reading, writing, and comprehension level. Jr. high and high school students will be approached in separate focus groups.
Homework: This class includes regular take-home projects that are worked on over a period of time through assigned steps.

Over the past ten years, I have had the privilege of working with youth of all ages both locally and internationally, and have taught in a variety of alternative settings. With a background in teaching health and wellness, faith studies, and personal development, I joined Inspire in 2015 to further bring creative and innovative learning opportunities. Previously I developed curriculum while teaching with local nonprofits and ministries, and worked with cross-cultural programs in Asia and homeschool educators Hands In Motion. I now utilize my passions as the owner of World Changers Education Services, while working for humanitarian efforts as the co-founder and international representative for Four Corners Charity.
My approach in teaching is hands-on, and I believe it is of the utmost importance that each student is strengthened and empowered through their education. In my classrooms you'll find discussion, mixed media, and creative projects for students to engage with the subject.
